We’re beyond excited to celebrate this next chapter with the people who have been such an important part of our lives. There’s nowhere we’d rather gather everyone we love than on Chebeague Island for a weekend of sunshine, celebration, and plenty of time together.We put this site together to help you plan for the weekend and make the most of your time in Maine. You’ll find everything from travel and accommodations to our favorite things to do on the island and, of course, all of the wedding weekend details.Whether you’re coming from across the country or just across the water, it means so much to us that you’re making the trip to celebrate alongside us. Our Wedding

Our Story

As I’m sure you all know, we started out as friends first, brought together by a shared love of travel, good jokes, live music, socializing, and always trying something new.

What began as a friendship slowly turned into something more as we spent more and more time together during COVID. Somewhere along the way, we realized that we weren’t just great friends, we genuinely cared for one another and wanted to start building a life together.

Not long after, we entered a new chapter with Bridget moving to London for graduate school. Suddenly, our relationship became long-distance, with an entire ocean between us. We made the most of it with plenty of trips back and forth, long phone calls, and a lot of time spent figuring out how to make the distance work. As challenging as it could be, that year ended up being one of the most important for us. We learned that if we could make a relationship work across an ocean, we could take on just about anything together. It was during this time that we knew we had found something truly special.

Eventually, we were lucky enough to close the distance and begin building our life together in Boston. For the past three years, we’ve called the South End home, filling our days with walks around the neighborhood, dinners and drinks at our favorite spots, visits from family and friends, and plenty of adventures in between. We’ve traveled to new places, celebrated countless milestones, navigated the ups and downs of everyday life, and continued to learn just how much we enjoy doing life together.

After years of friendship, long-distance, adventures, and building a home together, getting engaged felt like the most natural next step. We’re so excited for what comes next and even more excited to celebrate it with all of the people who have been part of our story along the way.

Getting to Chebeague Island

The easiest way to get to Chebeague Island is via the Chebeague Transportation Company (CTC) ferry from Cousins Island in Yarmouth, Maine. While there are a few steps involved, the process is very easy once you know where you’re going, and the ferry ride itself is just about 15 minutes!

Step 1: Drive to the CTC Parking LotIf you are driving to Chebeague, do not drive directly to the ferry dock. Visitor parking is located at the Chebeague Transportation Company’s satellite parking lot just off Route 1 in Cumberland, Maine.

Step 2: Park in the parking lotOnce you arrive at the parking lot, pull up to the small booth upon entry to pay a small parking fee for your stay. Load any large luggage into the underside of the bus. Smaller luggage can be placed on your lap.

Step 3: The Scenic Drive Through Yarmouth &amp; Cousins IslandThe shuttle will take you from the Route 1 parking lot through Yarmouth and onto Cousins Island.

Step 4: Board the Ferry to ChebeagueAt the Cousins Island wharf, simply get off the shuttle and board the Chebeague Transportation Company ferry. Have your ferry ticket ready when you board.The ferry ride to Chebeague Island takes approximately 15 minutes!

Step 5: Welcome to Chebeague!The ferry arrives at Stone Wharf on Chebeague Island, which is just a short walk from the Chebeague Island Inn, our wedding weekend home!

Getting around Chebeague

Golf Cart RentalsIf you’re staying on Chebeague Island, we highly recommend renting a golf cart to make getting around the island easy and convenient (especially if you are wearing heels to the wedding!). While the island is small and bike-friendly, a golf cart will make it much easier to get to and from the Inn, explore the island, and visit the beaches, restaurants, and other spots around Chebeague.We recommend renting from <a href="https://www.instagram.com/dylscartsllc" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Dyl’s Carts</a>. Beaches

Chebeague is home to several beautiful beaches and quiet stretches of shoreline to explore. Our three favorites are The Hook (Indian Point), Hamilton Beach, and Chandler’s Cove, and each offers a different way to experience the island, from swimming and relaxing in the sand to exploring the coastline and taking in beautiful Casco Bay views. Grab a beach chair, hop on a bike or golf cart, and spend an afternoon enjoying the water!The Hook (Indian Point) — Located at the southwest tip of the island, The Hook is one of our favorite spots on Chebeague. It’s a more rugged and scenic stretch of coastline with beautiful views of Casco Bay and Little Chebeague Island. At low tide, you can walk across the sandbar toward Little Chebeague for a fun little adventure. Be sure to check the tides before heading out!Hamilton Beach — Just a short walk from the Chebeague Island Inn, Hamilton Beach is an easy favorite for a classic beach day. Relax in the sand, take a swim, read a book, or enjoy a picnic while taking in the views. The Inn provides beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas for guests, making it especially easy to spend a few hours here.Chandler’s Cove — Located on the southern side of the island, Chandler’s Cove is a beautiful, peaceful spot to spend an afternoon by the water. The sandy beach and calm cove make it a great spot for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying classic Maine island scenery.Rose’s Point — A quieter beach on the eastern side of the island, Rose’s Point is a lovely place to enjoy the shoreline, take a walk, and soak in the views.Sandy Point — Located along the eastern side of Chebeague, Sandy Point offers a beautiful sandy shoreline and a peaceful spot to spend some time by the water.Division Point — A quiet beach on the western side of the island, Division Point is a great spot for a peaceful walk along the shore and enjoying Chebeague’s natural coastal scenery.A note on beach access: Please be mindful of private property and posted access areas when visiting the island’s beaches.

Our hope and preference is that everyone will stay right here on Chebeague Island! To help make that as easy as possible, we’ve put together a list of rental homes on the island for you to explore.

Staying on Chebeague is our top choice for our guests because it means you can truly settle into island time by enjoying the beaches, exploring the island, and soaking up all that makes Chebeague so special. And, selfishly, we would absolutely love having all of our favorite people nearby so we can spend as much time together as possible throughout the weekend!

One thing to keep in mind as you look through the rental list: many of the homes on Chebeague are classic, rustic New England beach houses that have been passed down through generations and have a wonderfully old school island charm. Many owners choose to rent their homes independently rather than through Airbnb or other rental platforms, so the listings can sometimes feel a little more low key than you might be used to. We encourage you to reach out directly to the owners by email. They are incredibly kind and welcoming and will be happy to share more up to date information, photos, and details about their homes!

We do recommend looking for and booking your accommodations as soon as you can. Chebeague is a popular summer destination, and many homes are already being booked for the 2027 season. We also know that staying on the island may not work for everyone, so we will likely be adding a room block in Portland as another option. That said, our preference is still for everyone to stay on Chebeague if possible, largely because of the ferry schedule and the additional travel time required to get to and from the island. We’ll share more details about the Portland option as we get closer!

Welcome to Maine! We hope you fall in love with it here just as much as we have. Here are some of our top recommendations of things to do during your visit:

Things to Do:Explore the island by bike — The best way to see Chebeague is on two wheels! The Chebeague Island Inn has beach cruiser bikes available for guests, making it easy to cruise the quiet island roads, explore the different neighborhoods, and stop at the beaches along the way.

Spend the day at Hamilton Beach — Just a short walk from the Inn, Hamilton Beach is a great spot to relax, swim, read, or enjoy a picnic. The Inn provides beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas for guests.

Walk out to The Hook — Head to Indian Point, known locally as “The Hook,” for beautiful views of Casco Bay. At low tide, you can walk across the sandbar toward Little Chebeague Island for a fun little adventure. Be sure to check the tides before heading out!

Play a round of golf at <a href="https://www.chebeagueislandgolf.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Great Chebeague Golf Club</a> — Located right next to the Inn, this nine-hole links-style course has incredible ocean views from every hole. It’s a perfect way to spend a leisurely afternoon on the island.

Play a match at the <a href="https://chebeaguetennis.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Great Chebeague Tennis Club</a> — Grab a racket and head over to the Great Chebeague Tennis Club for a friendly game of tennis. It’s a fun way to get some exercise while enjoying the relaxed island atmosphere.

Take a dip at the <a href="https://www.chebeaguerecreation.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Chebeague Recreation Center</a> — Head to the Chebeague Recreation Center for a swim in the island’s community pool. It’s a great option for cooling off on a warm summer day or for families looking for a fun place to spend an afternoon.

Play lawn games at the Inn — Challenge your friends to a game of bocce, cornhole, croquet, or frisbee on the Inn’s lawn. Or, after the sun goes down, gather around the fire pit for s’mores.

Take a boat out on Casco Bay — Arrange a private boat charter to explore Chebeague and the surrounding islands, or spend the day out on the water taking in the coastline, wildlife, and beautiful views of Casco Bay.

Visit Little Chebeague Island — For a little adventure, head across to Little Chebeague at low tide from The Hook. The island is undeveloped and offers a more rugged, natural side of the Maine coast.

Visit the <a href="https://www.chebeaguehistory.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Chebeague Island Historical Society</a> — Learn a little about the island’s history and explore its collection of photographs, artifacts, and exhibits. It’s a great stop for anyone interested in the history of this special little community.

Do absolutely nothing! — One of the best things about Chebeague is slowing down. Grab a book, sit on the porch, walk to the beach, and enjoy a little island time.

Favorite Eats:<a href="https://www.chebeagueislandinn.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Chebeague Island Inn</a> — Obviously our first choice! Grab a cocktail, enjoy a meal overlooking Casco Bay, or settle in on the porch for a drink and take in the views.

<a href="https://www.chebeagueislandboatyard.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Niblic</a> — a great island stop for coffee, breakfast, sandwiches, salads, chowder, baked goods, ice cream, and snacks. They also have a cute selection of Chebeague clothing, gifts, and souvenirs. Grab your food to go or enjoy it on their scenic deck overlooking the water.

<a href="https://www.instagram.com/slowbellcafe/?hl=en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Slow Bell Cafe</a> — a casual island restaurant and bar near the center of Chebeague. A great spot for dinner, drinks, soft serve, and often live music. Check their hours before heading over, as they vary throughout the season.
